Basically an essay has many purposes but the basic structure of these essays remains the same no matter what it is and the writer’s intention of writing the essay either to argue on a particular point of view or to explain the steps which are needed to complete a particular task. The simple steps to be followed to write an essay would be like first you need to decide on the topic; then prepare an outline of your ideas; then write your thesis statement; and then you will be writing down the introduction for your essay and then write the body of the essay; and in the body you will be writing the main points of the essay; and then the sub points and then you will be elaborating on the sub points. Finally you will be writing the conclusion part of the essay too and to add a complete glory to the essay you will end it up with the finishing touches too. The same format will apply to your research papers too.
